Actually a side task for the blockbuster animated film Geng: The Adventure Starts out, Upin & Ipin was created on Television9 on 13 Sept 2007 as a six-episode Ramadan/Eid special, to instruct children the importance of the Islamic holy month. As of 2014, the series has already reached its eighth season, including another Ramadan speci season in 2008, and, season three onwards, the year-long, more basic themed Upinipin and Friends, the series' international debut via the Disney Route Asia, with an increase of concentrating on informing the lives of The Twins with the friends on the standard days.
