Actually a side task for the blockbuster animated film Geng: The Adventure Starts off, Upin & Ipin was presented on Television set9 on 13 September 2007 as a six-episode Ramadan/Eid special, to instruct children the importance of the Islamic holy month. As of 2014, the series has reached its eighth season, including another Ramadan speci season in 2008, and, season three onwards, the year-long, more general themed Upinipin and Friends, the series' international debut via the Disney Channel Asia, with more concentrating on informing the lives in the Twins with the friends on the normal days.
