Formerly a side job for the blockbuster animated film Geng: The Adventure Gets started, Upin & Ipin was created on Tv set9 on 13 Sept 2007 as a six-episode Ramadan/Eid special, to teach children the significance of the Islamic holy month. As of 2014, the series has already reached its eighth season, including another Ramadan speci season in 2008, and, season three onwards, the year-long, more general themed Upinipin and Friends, the series' international debut via the Disney Route Asia, with more concentrating on informing the lives of this Twins with the friends on the standard days.
