Actually a side task for the blockbuster cartoon film Geng: THE EXPERIENCE Takes place, Upin & Ipin was unveiled on Television9 on 13 September 2007 as a six-episode Ramadan/Eid special, to teach children the importance of the Islamic holy month. As of 2014, the series has already reached its eighth season, including another Ramadan speci season in 2008, and, season three onwards, the year-long, more standard themed Upinipin and Friends, the series' international debut via the Disney Route Asia, with more concentrating on sharing with the lives of this Twins with their friends on the standard days.
